I don't know about you, but it seems to me that the architectural profession is incredibly left-wing.
Whether it's the RIBA, the AJ, the AR, or any other of the big architectural institutions, they all seem to pedal the same narratives. I don't think this is an accurate portrayal of our profession. I think there are thousands of centre-right architects out there who simply don't get heard from as much. Maybe we are less vocal. Maybe we are less pushy of our opinions than they are. Who knows.
What I do know is that there are a number of professional conservative societies, but as far as I can tell there is not one for architects.
So I've started one.
This is it.
The Society of Conservative Architects will seek to do what successive generations of architects have failed to do to any meaningful degree: put high quality architecture back on the agenda of politicians.
